Marilyn Jean Cummings passed away on August 28, 2023, in Baker City, Oregon, at the age of 90. She was born on October 9, 1932, in Waukegan, Illinois, to her loving parents, Lester and Gladys (Schooley) Cameron.
Marilyn's journey through life was marked by a deep commitment to caring for others. She spent 40 dedicated years working in home health care, providing compassion and support to those in need. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness.
In her personal life, Marilyn was blessed with love and companionship. She was married to David Shelton and later to Robert Cummings, both of whom have since passed away. Her heart was filled with the joys of family, hobbies, and faith.
Marilyn found solace and creativity in various pursuits. She had a passion for quilting, crafting beautiful jewelry, creating ceramics, and engaging in friendly Scrabble games. Her artistic talents were a testament to her vibrant spirit.
Her unwavering faith was THE cornerstone of her life. Marilyn was a devoted member of the Pentecostal Church of God and of the Baker City Harvest Church. She was also an author known for her poetry, which touched the hearts of many.
Marilyn is survived by her two loving sons, Daniel Shelton of Baker City, Oregon, and Perry Shelton of Port Charlotte, Florida, along with a legacy of 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her second husband, Robert Cummings, her first husband, David Shelton, and three of her children, Robert, Michael, and Cathy.

A celebration of life will be held at the Baker City Harvest Church on September 9, 2023, from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM with Pastor Brad Phillips officiating.
