Helen "Nadine" (Milton) Guymon

Helen "Nadine" Milton Guymon, 88, went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 26, 2023, after a battle with cancer, completing her wonderful life surrounded by her loving family.

Nadine was born on April 21, 1935, in Helper, Utah, to Carl and Clara Belle Fouse Milton. She attended grade school in Utah, Jr High, and High School in Baker City, Oregon. She married classmate Eugene Pat Guymon on January 18, 1952, in Boise, Idaho. Nadine and Pat had four children; Gary David, Teri Lynn, Jon Patrick, and Timothy Carl.

Nadine started her career with Basche Sage Hardware as a switchboard operator in 1954, then worked for U.S. National Bank for 22 years, followed by Cascade Natural Gas from 1978 to 1995. Nadine served her community as a PTA Member and on the Credit Women's Association. She also loved and nurtured many young children in Sunday School for years at the First Christian Church and later taught 3-year-olds at the Baker City Nazarene Church, where she was a long-time member. Nadine was known for her smiles, laughs, and hugs as she greeted those coming to church. She also had a gift of sending encouraging cards and was a faithful Prayer Warrior for her family and friends. She never missed a birthday, holiday, or special occasion for the kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids with the best cards, usually containing Nadine's special blessing of a generous gift of paper money and lots of xoxoxoxo's.

Much to her reluctance, Nadine later expanded her horizons to become an avid traveler, enjoying adventurous trips to Hawaii, Europe, England/Ireland, and Alaska. Pat and Nadine also enjoyed winter Snowbird trips to Yuma, Arizona.

Nadine's humble, caring, and gracious approach to all people and tasks was well-known and appreciated by all. During her time of illness, it was a blessing to hear many tributes to her sweet, uplifting countenance and her many acts of sacrificial helps and caring.

She is survived by her husband Pat Guymon, and children Gary (Kathryn), Teri Lynn (Karl Swanson), Timothy (Cindy), and grandchildren Patrick Swanson (Magoretti), Noah Guymon (Haley Metcalf), Joey Guymon (Jessica Ricci), Sarah Pizana (Shanon), step-grandson Matt (Jennifer Still) and great-grandchildren Alexus Swanson, Michaela & Madelyn Swanson, Jaxon & Cora-Nadine Guymon, Landon Guymon, Braeylea Guymon, Mackenzy, Sebastian & Daniel Pizana, Walker & Menzie Still).

Nadine is also survived by her nieces; Sandy (Bill Keplinger), Karen (Glen Giles), Kris Borgen, and Susan Milton, her nephews; Kerry Borgen (Keri Lynn), Jeff Milton & David Milton, and her sister-in-law Lorraine Milton.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Clara Belle Milton., son Jon, two brothers, Hal and Gary, and Sister, Betty Borgen.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all their friends who visited, brought food and beautiful flowers, sent cards, and called during Mom's illness. A special thanks for the loving care the Heart 'n Home Hospice nurses provided, who were always there for her.

 A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, beginning at 3:00 PM with a time of fellowship and reception to follow the service at 4:00 PM at the Baker City Church of the Nazarene,1250 Hughes Lane, Baker City, Oregon. Pastor Troy Teeter will be officiating the services.
