Marcella Dawn Engelhardt, 79, of Baker City, Oregon passed away on July 5, 2018, at Settler's Park Assisted Living Community. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Baker City, Oregon.
Marcella was born in Seattle, Washington on October 5, 1938, to Marcella Julia (Davis) Kirby and John B. Kirby. She graduated from high school in Baker City, Oregon in 1956 and went on to attend three years of college at Oregon State College in Corvallis, Oregon.
On December 30, 1958, Marcella married Ron Engelhardt in Ontario, Oregon and together they had two beautiful children; Brian and Dawn.
She was a hardworking mother of two and an excellent housewife. Ron was a pilot for 41 years and was gone almost a third of the time; Marcella raised her family and took care of the household on her own most of the time.
Marcella loved watercolor and oil painting, playing the piano, clarinet, and drums, photography, baking and cooking meals for the family and bowling.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Engelhardt of Baker City, Oregon; her children Brian Engelhardt of Erie, Colorado and Dawn Engelhardt of Chicago, Illinois; her siblings Shannon of Baker City, Oregon, and Johnny of San Francisco, California and two grandchildren.
Marcella is preceded in death by her parents John and Marcella Kirby and her two aunts Mary and Dorothy.
