Dorothy Jean Rager, age 96, of Baker City, Oregon passed away on June 2, 2019 at Settler's Park Assisted Living.
Dorothy was born on January 19, 1923 in New Bridge, Oregon to John Melvin and Abbie Blanche (Davis) Hensley. On August 24, 1942, Dorothy married Lyle Rager in Weiser, Idaho. Together, they owned the In and Out Drive-in in Halfway for a time. For years, she belonged to the “Barn Rockers” square dance club in Halfway. The dance hall was a converted barn belonging to her dad, “Mel” Hensley.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Michael Rager of Baker City, Oregon and Thomas Rager of Cove, Oregon. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mel and Abbie Hensley and her husband, Lyle Rager.
