Home burial is an option that many prefer. Most Jurisdictions allow home burial but may have certain restrictions. Pet services maintains an up-to-date list of all nearby jurisdictions their regulations and contact information.
The term "Private Cremation" means that your pet will be cremated separately from other animals. The ashes, also, will be kept separate and returned to you in the urn of your choice. This is a dignified process and your pet's privacy is assured at all times. Some people request to see the facility where the cremation takes place and this can instill confidence of professionalism.
"General" or "Communal" cremation implies that your pet is cremated along with other animals and the ashes are not returned to you.
Choosing between burial and cremation is a highly personal decision. Most pet owners opt for cremation of their pet companions because it is environmentally friendly, cost effective, and a practical solution. Cremating your companion gives you the ability to carry your beloved pets ashes with you in the event you relocate. Keep in mind some jurisdictions may discourage the burial of pets that have not been cremated.
